Hi, I can't seem to find where the Start and Finish Dates for a course are input. I have attached a screen shot of the Add courses form.   Thanks in advance

Hi Andrew,

you have to assign at least one session to the course, so it will take the dates from there. It makes more sence to take the dates from the sessions than from the course itself.

We are still facing few issues to get to the final decision. For instance when we build a calendar view, how can we display a course on it if there is no session defined. Also what shall we do with the courses which are spread across more days and there is just one assigned? Using sessions comes from the real scenarios and you can use them for one days events as well as for a long term events.

Even though I am not using this currently but I may consider moving back if the missing features are back!

 

Okay you don't display the course if it has no session. You only display sessions on the calendar. Take a look at RSevents component. They have done this very nicely!

And usually courses are not just one day courses. There are 1 week long or a have specified duration.. so we would want to have a start date and finish date for sessions .. not the course.

We will have a look at other solutions. Also we should consider supporting iCal. There is always a lot to improve:(
