Great suggestion and you are lucky that we have thought about it previously. Please check the new fetures of the new Course Manager 1.5.5 on your website. With this version it is easy to attach any document to a course, so the visitors can download it.

Love the new features! I actually did most of them myself manually but now this update fixes them all.

By the way how do I download the update?

Thanks for the positive words, Amjad. Yesterday we sent you an email about the bnew version explaining what it brings and how to get it. Also, there was a discount coupon code included. With this coupon (use it in our eShop) you could get the new version for a special price. Please let me know ifyou couldn't find it.

If you need to know what is the difference between the revision and new version, please read the FAQs section. I hope you will like it.

Thanks I just received it. You have increased the price of the plugin and given discount on that..so its basically like purchasing it again. Why so?

What's the procedure to update... will I lose my current data? I have a LOT of course information and I cannot afford to lose it.

Hi Amjad,

We are happy that we released the new version this month. We put a lot of effort to get the new version published. We had to change the pricing, as most of the users requested having an access to the discussion forum (as you know it is still free) and on top of that we wanted to shorten the release cycles by gathering the funds for the development faster. So, as the price is still very reasonable, customers get a lot for that.

But because you bought the previous version you get the new one for almost the same price as before. We think is very fair. So, go for it until the sale expires.

Regarding the update, it is quite difficult to move the data into the new structures in one click. But if you know how to use PhpMyAdmin and Excel, it should not be a big issue for you. We might have a look at it in near future.

wait.. what? Are you serious? You want us to lose all our existing data to apply the update. I'd rather pay the full price and have my data saved. It took me 3 days to add all these courses and information! There has to be a way other than using phpmyadmin and excel .... come on.

I see you spent some serious time with uploading the data into the extension previously. As we finalized the course manager 1.5.5 we can have a look on migration tasks very soon.

Belive me ro not, there were users who wanted to have the new version available even without the migration scripts. Bt that is not your case, of course.

A smooth migration feature is key to providing any new updates. I think many of the existing users of Course Manager - which includes me, shall be on the look out for this solution before making any updates. Will be on the look out for the next release!

You are absolutely right. That is why it takes much longer to release the next revision. We have been working on a functionality for upgrading the extension. It is almost done, but still not perfect. After we release 1.5.5_rev1 that can upgrade from 1.5.5 we will continue working on the upgrade from 1.5.4.
