course order
It's possible to show the course list ordered by date? Now the only two options is alphabetical order (by course name) or by price. this is not usefull for the students to find the wrigth course. |

Hi Juergen,
the file got into the Site folder instead of Admin folder, please move it to the proper destination (to Admin folder). If you need further assistance, just let us know again. |

WE are solving some of the issues.
How you do to add a new currency?
We modified config.xml, and upload it to administrator/components/com_courseman
but doesn't work.

Thanks for your feedback.
After following your suggestions above, I have found that the ajaxsearch module I had was stopping the submit button from working.
All works a treat now.
Many thanks |

It is impossible to make a menu Item that requires a selection (course, category, tag, etc) on the pararmetrer (basic).
Altough the list of posible sellection it shown I can not include them. |

Problems after upgrade
we have a lot of troubles to set the update. At the end, we have to run a full new installation. The mail problem we have after the update was that all the administrator menus were blocked.
After the new installation it seems to work well, but we still have some problems like the one mentioned before.
One of the issues appears whn we try to create a menu item in order to show the courses list. We created the menu item using "categry layout" menu type. When we try to set the Category for this menu (basic parameters) the list appears, but is not possible to select one. |

Hi Mauro,
did you get any error during the upgrade? Can you access all the data in the administration?
After looking at the website I think the issue is in SEF URLs. The component on the page you sent me a link to is showing strange redirects such as:
http://www2.ecomed.org.ar/component/courseman/courses/3-cursos/4-wfr-huella-andina
It should be something like:
http://www2.ecomed.org.ar/courses/3-cursos/4-wfr-huella-andina
or maybe http://www2.ecomed.org.ar/3-cursos/4-wfr-huella-andina
Create a new menu link and try it. I think you will see it okay. |

Trying to get started with Course Manager
Hi Shawn,
it is easy to use the extension, as we have always tried to follow the general Joomla's user interface.
Basically to have everything up and running, make sure you set up everything in the Settings first. That includes reference tables, add paypal email address you used when you registered PayPal. Then custom fields for the registration form and finally an email template that is being sent when a user submits an application.
Then create a tutor.
Then publish a category or a tree of categories if you want.
And then you can easily create a new course. There you have mupliple settings available, so you can change the way the course is displayed.
After creating course please make sure you create a session (or more) for each course. It is required, as the system reads the dates from the sessions to find the start and finish dates.
When you have all this done, please go to Menus and create a new menu link to one of the course manager's screens. It will be immediately published on the website.
I know you would like to see some sort of document in your hand, but there has been a lot of changes in the extension recently, therefore we were unable to complete the up to date user guide for public so far. Enjoy using the component. |

courses not displaying; maybe a problem with sessions?
Hi Carson,
yes, it is true. You have to have at least one session published to have the course listed. Session equals to one day. So if you st more then one session you can have courses that last more than a day.We are going to simplify this concept very soon and you will be able to set up start and finish dates directly from the course details.
To setup new session go to Administration > Course Manager > Courses and click the blue icon in the column called Sessions. You will be redirected to a screen where you can create new sessions for the courses. |

1. I can not choose "Category Course". When I try to do it, I see the list of categories but I can not do select them.
2. I try to solve this problem, I created a menu Item "external link" to show the courses list. I entered the full adress (http://www2.ecomed.org.ar/index.php?option=com_courseman&view=category&cid=3) If you click on it you can see the courses list, but if you choose one of them a new error apears.
Please help!!!! We are run out of time! |

Trying to get started with Course Manager
I've got the extension installed but need to know where to go from here. Are there directions I can follow to get the configuration that works for me? We have a small training school with around 40 courses in three different categories. www.pelhamtactical.com - I need to have a course description, a book button, course dates, multiple attendees, and paypal integration - similar to the demo. I'm not that familiar with Joomla so I'm learning all of it now. I really need to get some instructions or this extension is useless to me.
Thanks! |

courses not displaying; maybe a problem with sessions?
I have set up a category and place two courses within it. Then I set up a menu item for the category. However, I just get an empty list with the message "There are no records to display." In looking through the forum, one thread seemed to indicate that I might need to add sessions for the courses to appear. If this is true, where do I add a session? Thanks for your help! |
